There needs to be an instant "CHARGE" or "CHARGE NOW" button on the dashboard.
Reason? When the timer is set to charge the battery at night and you are at a charge station during the day, you CANNOT charge the battery unless you do the following:
1. Have the remote with you (we usually keep it in the house to check battery charge, temperature, and start the heater in the morning).
2. Use your cell phone, pull up your Honda App, and then tell it to charge the battery.
This is VERY INCONVENIENT. It would be much easier to be able to go to a charge station and push a button on the dashboard that would OVERRIDE the timer and IMMEDIATELY BEGIN CHARGING THE BATTERY.

Agree. And putting the button inside the charge door, à la” the VW eGolf, seems an even better location.

You can't use your cell phone if the car is in a garage and can't communicate with the network.
But there is another way to do it if you don't have the FOB with you. Use the controls in the car to delete the scheduled timer function. This will allow the car to be charged. Later you can reschedule the timer.

Some people have skipped using the car's timer and use a smarter EVSE. OpenEVSE can have a built-in charging clock, or (example) Siemens VersiCharge has a 2-4-6-8 hour delay.

You don't need the remote. Just use the controls on the steering column to turn off the timer function. It is very easy.
