I agree. I'm on the fence as well. My Model 3 is at least 10 months out.

I turned in my FitEV just before Christmas for a new Clarity BEV and haven't looked back. It is fantastic and, as much as I liked the Fit, is 10 times the car. Much bigger (mid-size) and more comfortable, lots of technology, safer, and even a little better range. TOTAL amortized monthly cost, including driveoff, rebates, etc., will be $142/mo. for three years. The collision insurance and maintenance that was included in the Fit lease is not included, but I expect the maintenance to be close to zero.
If you can get one, and can work with the limited range, it is a great deal. A real pleasure to drive--head and shoulders above the Fit. My daily commute is 43 miles, so the car works fine for me (we have two other ICE cars for the occasional longer range trip.)

If you buy a Clarity, make sure you get full glass coverage on it. Someone in the Clarity EV group's car needs a windshield replacement already and the cost of the glass itself is over $1,600 plus labor to install. It is such a low production model that there is no cheaper aftermarket glass available.

With the Fit EV, this was never a concern as everything was covered.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm pretty sure that is in my coverage, but it won't hurt to check. I had to have the FitEV windshield replaced at one point. That was the first windshield I'd replaced since the 1980's.

Those who have received a sixth year extension, could you tell me how far before the end of your fifth year you were notified? My fifth year ends July 18, and I have not had any notification about another extension.
Much obliged,
Drew

From the Fit EV Facebook group: "My lease is up 6/21/2018 (will be 5 years) so about two months before it was up they sent me the extension paperwork."

I just received my sixth year extension paperwork yesterday and my current lease extension ends 7/2/2018. I'm going to sign up for the sixth year since I don't have a replacement lined up and there is no restriction on terminating the lease early.

Another data point:
My 5th-year lease expires on 04/09/18.
01/09/18: lease extension offer letter email received
02/07/18: lease extension letter signed/faxed back
02/12/18: lease extension 6th-year confirmation email received
Hope this helps!

Thanks all!

Seems to be a range of lead times. I'm hoping I get the offer.
