Hello everyone. I recently acquired a used Fit EV and the previous owner did not return the Honda interactive remote with the vehicle. I was wondering if anyone had one for sale or knew of someone at Honda I could contact to get one. The salesman said the remote was useless and everything could be done with the mobile app, however I found the app to be very unreliable. If anyone could help me that would be great!
I think someone at Honda should be able to replace the remote, although I would not be surprised if your service dept needs to "pair" it to the car. (I don't know, this is just my guess.)
I had the FitEV for 4 1/2 years, and found the remote useful. It was not terrible to live without it, but it was useful.
Yes, the app/server/AT&T wireless connection can do whatever the remote does ... but, there are plenty
of places where the AT&T link doesn't work. And there have been many times when the app/server system was down, unreliable or very slow.
I returned the remote with my FitEV which had over 50K miles. I don't think they re-leased that unit, though
I do see some "used" FitEVs with about 30K miles available.
Did you get a Level 2 (240V) EVSE? (Leviton?) Which model did you get?
Thanks for the reply Srl99. I finally got a remote from the dealer. They gave me a remote from another lease return that was probably not reissued. I was able to pair it to the vehicle myself with some instructions I found online. Honda did send me a leviton level two wall charger. Though I do not need it. My housing complex offers charging stations already and so does my place of work. Does Honda ask for the charger upon the lease return or can I sell it?
Enjoy it. It's a great vehicle. We thoroughly enjoyed ours for over 50K miles, and only returned it because I travel a lot and it sat unused for many many months.
A little witchcraft works wonders on EVSE hogs ... if you find the correct spell it will shrink their (ahem)
so much the plug (or socket) will no longer fit correctly :=) .
